Our last bottle of this vintage. Still very much a full on 15 degrees alcohol Californian Chardonnay so it was certainly a mouthful. It was also highly enjoyable and maintained a good balance.

Wow! Had to try the ‘15 after the having the insane ‘16 last weekend! Almost identical but this may be a bit more complex with butter, honey, slight butterscotch, and caramel. Big depth and finish. I could drink this all day everyday!!

Medium-deep golden color. Beautiful nose of toasted honey and bees wax. as well as a faint wisp of flowers and nice, toasty oak. Full-bodied and so round on the palate. Delicious, this is loaded with toasted honey and oak as well as bruised apricots, peaches and apples. Excellent acidity and freshness. Perfectly mature, this can last another year or two with ease. Drink now-2024 93

Is this the best Californian Chardonnay we have ever tasted? Probably. We are not that experienced with CC, but this was drinking wonderfully and went very well with Chicken in cream and mushroom sauce. I was a bit concerned with the 15% Alcohol but the balance was great with oak definitely there but not out of line. Fruits were not clearly obvious, there was an element of citrus, muted pineapple, but also a sense of caramelised apple. Whatever it was, it was delicious. As we near to Christmas, this could be a great partner to Turkey and all the trimmings. I reckon it does not have to be this Christmas.
