  • Aged very nicely, a lovely classic Macon. The barrel is very integrated as a honey note, plenty of citrus and fruit, and long rich finish. Excellent

  • I know they say don't judge a book,
But you'd have to read books to understand.

Lean, crisp and creamy all together.

Here is the Chardonnay that gets no credit regarding grape. This is Location. Northern Burgundy white with purpose.

  • 13% alcohol. This is the "20 mois d'élevage" version. Golden colour.
The nose has fresh apple and white flowers, a lovely mix. Good concentration in the mouth with an ever so slight sweet sensation, not unpleasant at all.
Coming straight after La Louviére 2012, the present wine is immediately more assertive, bordering on rustic. Later on, the wine creates its own reference frame and it scores very well.
Went well with scallops, but not to be served with oysters.

  • 13% alcohol. Vey good long cork. This has "20 mois d'élevage" on the back label. Pale straw colour.
The nose is rich and broad, probably reflecting that long élevage, without any oaky note. The mouth is surprisingly sharp after that opulent nose, being sprightly and slightly tingly, much tighter than the nose; some appley flavour, a sweet-but-not-sugary aspect and a pleasant tightness in the finish make for a wine that is difficult to pin down. I have a feeling that the price has increased a good bit since I last acquired this wine; for my part, I would baulk at paying any more than 15€ for it.
Went well with pan fried hake.

  • Varietal nose, pretty. Ripe to overripe nose. Lots of padding here.
