  • Opened 2-1/2hrs prior to dinner, finding it pretty open simply slow-oxed in 2 Riedel BDXs & btl till dinner. Very balanced & relatively weightless, for syrah. The acidity keeps this exceedingly fresh & vibrant. Generous aromas of; iron, bacon, spice & underbrush. Palate echos the nose w/ layers of; dark fruit, iron & other mineral tones along w/ spice, meat, dark & underbrush. Very authentic & impressive. Loved it. 14.0% alc on label but feels more like 12%. My last, wishing I had more. Paid $15, drinks like $40 plus. Very classic & very Cote Rotie like.

  • Very Good+, and a clear cut above CdR. I should have decanted more and drank with a richer, heartier dish - that's what I'd recommend this with.

  • Retailer states this is essentially in Cote Rotie but technically just outside the appellation (on granite & on the slope). 100% Syrah. It certainly taste and smells like classic NR. I simply opened up and poured in a Riedel BDX glass 30 minutes prior to dinner. Maybe a little grip on the finish but otherwise very balanced and relatively weightless for syrah. The acidity keeps this exceedingly fresh and vibrant. Perfuse aromas of iron, bacon, spice and underbrush. This has really come together since my first btl 38 months ago. Palate echos the nose with layers of iron and other mineral tones along with spice, meat, dark fruit and underbrush. No even a hint of over extraction. Very authentic and impressive. Love it. I've got one more and wish i had at least 3 more. 14.0% alc on label but feels less. More like 12%. Paid $15, easily drinks like $30+ 91+

  • Still very primary, like a good bottle of unoaked, cool-climate CA Syrah. Not a lot of N Rhone character to my taste, but I'll give the last bottle a few more years of age to see where it goes.

  • PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs
    -opaque inky purple red
-moderately expressive rich dark berry bacon smoke
-med acidity, med+ weight, thick and dense dark berry earth tar licorice, med+ tannins good length
-very good now but very young, ample and generous with some structure to improve luckily because it will need a few years to reach its prime, nice that this is substantial without surmaturité or excessive heat, outrageously good value
