Popped and let breathe for 2 hours. Really a fruit forward nose for a Bordeaux, showing blueberry, blackberry, black cherry, prune, leather, and a touch of mint. Lots of black plum and cherry on the palate, along with some coffee bean, chocolate, mint, and clove spice. Dry, with still a lot of tannin remaining. Well balanced, with medium acidity. Medium finish, ending with notes of espresso. Drinking well right now, and plenty of years ahead. Very nice.

At Sheila's party in PA (complete with snowstorm): What a lovely wine -- and what a nice surprise. I thought it might have faded -- but it was just delicious. Much better than in 2004 (just like me). Cherry, lots of carmel and some coffee notes, too. Best with the goose pate -- but good on its own, too. Anne particularly liked it; Sheila did, too.

Medium garnet. Not very aromatic and the alcohol shows. The wine is mature, still strong, it is delicate, with nice texture, mellow and refreshing. Pomerol yes, full no. The wine is classic Bordeaux with medium body and freshness. Wood aromas, cedar and some red fruit. Good finish.

The debut wine for our wine club - a good start. Great vintage. Bright ruby appearance. Nose of cherry, plums. On the palate we got hints of spice, lead pencil, liquirice. Lovely soft and smoothe wine with lots of fruit.

Not the most complex, but exceedingly smooth palate. The fruits are hanging in there but this is fully mature, drink up.
