Not a lot different from 5 months ago. The crunchy cranberries dominate the attack, but fresh raspberries make a shining appearance as well. Some soft sandalwood notes appear on the mid-palate. The finish is all that fruit with anise. Nothing wrong with drinking or holding. As with the last bottle a filmy cloud of sediment coats the neck, shoulder and side of the bottle. 12.5% alc. With homemade pizzas (Canadian bacon & mushroom, pepperoni with onion). 02.04.24. Recommended.

PNP. Initial attack of brett and cranberry, leaps from the glass. Decided to decant a portion of the wine to see what emerges. Some of the animal funk subsides revealing complexity. Cranberry, asian pear, mushroom, forest floor, sandalwood/cedar, dried flowers, pickling/medicinal spice. Palate confirms aromas. Med+ acidity, well integrated alcohol (a joy to drink a wine like this at 12.5%) and tannins, very soft and pleasing texture. Fantastic with grilled steak and shaved truffles. Part of me really loves this wine, another part is having a hard time with brett and animal aromas as I get older.

Off the beaten track: So much darker and more masculine than the Guion tasted next to it, more fruit, more extract, more tannins, more of everything, and I mean that in a positive way. Tobacco, barnyard, leather, dark, ripe fruit, bell pepper, a real character wine. Despite the tannic bite this is drinking well but will hold maybe forever. Amazing showing of this wine. 18+/20

Excellent. Drank well on PnP, so it's already 'ready', but really got better with air. So decant near term. I've only got one more of these and figure to hold another 4-7 years on that one.
