Late night drink at home with Manchego cheese. Drank in both Grassl Cru and Conterno Sensory. Half bottle brought back from winery. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of floral blossoms, mineral inflections - iron and saline, earth, red fruits. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acid, medium+ alcohol (13.8%), smooth gossamer medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of pretty red cherries, cranberry, raspberry, red pomegranate, saline minerality, light earth going on forest floor, light spice. Medium+ finish Very good quality. Pretty and nice complex Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Clearly speaking of cool terroir. In a good place already. Probably can develop more if in regular bottle.

Prior bottle was 7 months ago and this wine continues to show quite well. Slightly prettier nose than previously with red berries, red cherry and forest floor notes. Medium bodied with rounded and expressive red cherry upfront. Mid-body adds some darker red cherry, some high toned red berries and some background red raspberry notes. Backside shows tart red cherry and cranberry along with tannins, balanced acidity and the light spice notes. Felt like all the elements were in a slightly better balance than in my prior bottle, even if the flavor profile only shifted slightly. I would drink these over the next 2 years because while it will last after that time, based on these notes, I think that's where it will show it's best.

Prior bottle was just over a year ago and my notes were very comparable. Red cherry, red berries, tart cranberry and forest floor notes on the nose. Medium bodied with red cherry upfront, broadening through the middle and adding red raspberry and red berries. The balance here is a real strength as the fruit is expressive but there are enough contrasting notes of acidity and tart red fruit so the wine comes off as elegant and complex. Cranberry and tart red cherry on the back along with minerals and light spice notes. This wine is in a really good spot at present. While I think it has some time in front of it, I plan to open my last bottle in Fall 2021 alongside the 2014 to enjoy the peak.

Ranges from red to blue fruits. Good fruit, ample acidity and a firm structure. Earthy secondary notes. Finishes with lingering tart fruit.

Tasting note largely the same as before, red fruited, hint of vanilla, low acid, low tannins, seems to still be drinking very nice.
