Deep ruby. A very herbal nose that I could not quite place (eucalyptus?) along with a quite a bit of unpleasant reduction notes. Medium body with medium acidity and silky tannins. Bright fruit notes of stewed cherries and raspberries with very good depth along with some earthiness towards the back and finish. Fruit forward but not in an obnoxious or in your face way. Just really enjoyable on the palate and my wife was a big fan. Great accompaniment to some cherrywood smoked tomahawk pork chops.

In an interesting place right now. Dry, sour cherry, lots going on here. But then I decided to pair this with a spicy heirloom tomato viniagrette and wow! It came alive: secondary notes of allspice and toasty oak blossomed from the glass. Rich cherry cola mingles with these other flavors as the wine opens up. Love this wine.

Decided to open one of my bottles now, just to see how things were going. Obviously closed up at first, light aromas of cherry and smoke, almost like a nice mezcal. Begins to open up after 30-45 minutes. Light oak, red cherry and plum, lightly bittersweet mouthfeel that I love. Very nice wine. Save it for a while, though.

Popped and poured. Showing exuberant dark cherry and spice notes. Generous mid-palate with notes of black tea. This bottle was very, very good.
