This is all over the place and probably past its prime. It's just plain weird and I don't mean the style. Upon opening, it was pretty much just bretty band-aid sauce, but (after opting to not send it down the drain) it was a lot more interesting after two days in the fridge... although still not great.
Bourbon colored... literally. Like, my wife actually walked in and said, "what the hell is going on and why are you drinking a wine glass full of Bourbon". This gave me expectations of pronounced depth and intensity, but this has a faded feel that almost seems like it was corked, despite no evidence from actually smelling the cork.
On the palate you get dried orange peels, saltanas, cloves, nutmeg, bruised orchard fruit, along with bretty iodine and light leathery notes. Outside of the label, you would never guess that this is 15%abv and the acidity keeps this surprisingly light on its feet. The problem is that the volume is just turned down, making me think that this might have been really great a few years back. The fan in me makes me want to think that this was corked or otherwise an off bottle.
My guess is that this bottle might be a bit of an outlier and it makes me want to try something more current.

Gorgeous colour - almost like a brandy. The nose is amazingly intense and has me scratching my head for aromas - almost a hint of oud, tropical hard woods, incense, burnt orange, some minerality. Everything is laser like though - super clean and precise Silky palate with the slightly discombobulating feeling of orange wines of tannins on the background of white wine flavours.
This was a real treat, such an interesting but above all, well made wine

Wow, amazing. Truly a great wine of the world. Insane balance in all respects — alcohol, acid, weight, tannin, intensity. Complex and meditative. Lemon zest, sandalwood, pencil lead, flan, caramel, cedar, jasmin. So balanced. A world class wine.

Lacking the edge you’d expect from a top-shelf orange wine. Interesting yes… But sherried as others have noted.

Complex palate with almost a chewy texture. Long finish. A bit like sherry with an almond finish. Surprisingly fades away with time and air.
Big and ripe. Meditative. Better to drink slightly more chilled or the 15% alcohol get's in the way.
Glass: Zalto White.
Overall: As orange as it gets.
