  • I opened another one. The initial taste is odd: sweetish and cheaply appealing, rather flat. But it developed during the first day. I left the bottle open over night, recorked and had the rest the next night. Pleasant and tasty to drink now. Dark and medium-to-full-bodied. Dark berries. Not tannic: so I don’t know whether this wine will last many more years. It may be close to its peak. But it is a reasonably decent and enjoyable wine now, if you let it air for a while. I won’t pour my remaining bottles into the drain as I thought I might do two years ago. I am looking forward to opening the next one. But who knows: perhaps I will change my mind then.

  • Tried three "inexpensive Bordeaux" over a week. This was definitely Evi's favorite.

  • Pretty tasty already at 1 hour in the decanter. Unmistakable Petit Verdot component (I'm a fan), both color and cranberry/elderberry flavors, even though it's only 4%. At three hours, cinnamon cherry, cherry pits, vanilla, with nice acidity and soft tannins. Great by itself or with food...just delightful. Both 2015 and 2016 Brdx vintages had quality wines at all price points, so I'm glad that I bought lots of $15-25 wines in those vintages--in addition to the usual higher priced wines. I could serve this wine to just about anyone, and they would be thrilled, I think. In the words of Garagiste, "this is what Brdx should taste like." Great QPR at $16.
