  • Interesting that there are so many notes on young bottles and no notes after 2016. This wine is just about ready IMO. Deep colour with no sign of ageing. Good, restrained, Bordeaux nose. Attractive fruit on the palate with soft, integrated tannins and gentle food-friendly acidity. Quite long, with just a hint of cumin on the late taste. Surprisingly good claret from a middling year which indicates good winemaking. Enjoyable now.
24h later, it had settled and was very good with a rich beef stew.

  • Very pleasant, integrating well now, although not fully ripe in this vintage. The trademark Listrac tannins are still evident, suggesting it may still improve. I found this to be medium bodied and a refreshing, food friendly style, a traditional Bordeaux in fact, unlike the ripe, plush 09s. Really enjoyed this and shall seek it out again.

  • Very earthy. Needed to decant for at least 1/2 hour. Mineral, Cassis, Tobacco. Big wine, paired very well with Fillet Mignon.

  • DTC 2016-01; Bordeaux 2006. (@ SS): The bouquet still shows some creamy lactic impressions, but also green herbs and green bell pepper. On the palate dark and red berries, herbaceous, bell pepper again, medium plus acidity and slightly drying still somewhat sticky tannin. Overall a bit unripe. No hurry with this wine; some more ageing might soften the wine a bit, but the unripe flavors will stay. Will never be great.

  • Colour: quite dark purple. Not much of a nose. Taste: only a little fruit, dominated by mature, secondary notes of leather, smoke and some chocolate. Better at the first day then at the third. Like with more 2006 Medoc wines the structure with much tannins in this wine is insufficiently backed by fruit. Drink up. 85 (third day)-86 (first day).
