This is a red wine from Umbria. It’s made from the Sagrantino grape indigenous of the region. The producer is the iconic Lungarotti that we visited in 2018. The wine is a dark ruby with the rim not true to the core as clear sign of bottle aging. The viscosity is medium High (14.5% abv). The nose shows great elegance with notes of black fruits ( black cherries and blackberries ) and nites of leather and wet leaves. The palate confirms the nose with a perfectly balanced acidity and an harmonious tannins ( that shows a perfect aging given the well know high tannin context in the Sagrantino wines ). In summary an excellent wine and a Perfect pairing with grilled meats ( barbecue ) as we did but also with pasta with a meat sauce or truffles ( typical of the region).PM 93
