Nose of blackberry syrup and mint/cilantro. Jammy with a berries and cream candy character and a bit of residual sweetness, hint of grape cough syrup. M acid, light tannin, M+ body. Bought this to have with penne arrabbiata and it worked well enough for that but poor qpr, feels like something you’d get in the $12-15 range not $20-25. Too jammy/sweet for me on its own (though NOT boozy or oaky or extracted). ~4.5/10

A bit disappointed by the acidity level for a wine from Primitivo. Too acidic for my tastes, however some others may like the "juiciness" of the wine. Would do ok w/red sauce or a entree that paired well w/flavors of tart cranberries.

Really enjoyed this, paired well with a hearty beef and vegetable soup after a cold day outside. I note this because it was key to enjoying it. ~ Relatively heavily oaked but they did it well. Palate of prune and Cherry, the later reminiscent of a Sangiovese but the colour was much deeper and more purple. Some hints of cinnamon and some tobacco. Barely old world but I think it falls just over the fence. Finish is imperfect. ~ Low acid, med tannin, off dry finish.

Nice violet color precedes a peppery and fruit nose. Goes down like a refined zin. Paired nicely with grilled chicken wings in buffalo sauce.
