More red-fruited than the last time I had this wine, but the same level of class and polish. Complex nose of red fruits some minerals and rich cherry. Fine-grained tannins on a long finish. Delicious.

Wonderful nose of herbs, violets, plum, cherries, and raspberries. Tastes of black cherries, blackberries, mocha, and coffee. Medium bodied, but too young to drink now with very robust tannins. Give this bottle time; aging will definitely add to it’s potential.

Arietta WIne DInner (Heaton's Vero Beach, FL): Color: Inky Ruby Nose: Earth, Menthol, cigar box Taste: Rhubarb, cinnamon, red fruit, pomegranate and blood orange. This was very nice, smooth drinking with a finish that is subtle. Made with 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% merlot - the blend really stands out. Quite young now - will benefit from some aging - give it air if drinking in the next few years. Paired with Rosemary crusted rack of lamb with confit potatoes, citrus local mushroom cream sauce.

Fabulous Cab Francs at Shears Grotto (Shear's Grotto): Delicious wine and in a great window. Dark brooding nose with spice, blackberry. The finish is so smooth and has wonderful tension. Such a good finish. A touch of toasty oak and fine-grained tannins poke through on the finish. My 3/6 and the group's 4/6.
