Tasting, brief note. Red and black currant with dried thyme. Starts off as approachable, but firm tannins come through in the middle. Needs time, but I like the potential here.

At Convivium Osteria. A big, lush Montepulciano but not over the top. I did not find the oak obtrusive as is sometimes mentioned about this producer. A fine pairing with Lamb chops.

12m in 100% new French, 12m in bottle. 2014 was not as difficult in this sub zone. Dark and brooding aromas. You can feel the new oak on the palate, taste it a little too. Substantial spice.
