Still deciding. Sometimes I finding too big (14.5 ABV and fruit) and sometimes just right. Sometimes a bit baked and sometimes not. It could be bottle variation. When good, it is 91-. When less it is 90pts.

What a pleasant surprise! We had this with a Chicago thin crust pizza and it was excellent. Montepulciano with pizza is a pairing made in heaven. Intense ruby red, good concentration, medium to full body. Aromas of cherries, blackberries, red fruit, spice, chocolate, tobacco, cedar, and subtle earthiness. Good acidity that makes you want to drink more! Well structured and good depth! I wasn’t expecting this level of finesse at this price point. Great QPR. Will look to purchase some in the future if I see it again!

Multi hour decant, which is a good idea, this has some real tannic structure to it that needs some air to help it relax. This leans into blackberry fruit in a big way, with a dark earth element going on as well. Long finish, with a fairly big mouthfeel.
