Last tasting dinner at Barbaracca, Godalming (owner has sold up and retired from the restaurant business). Limited notes on selected wines. Much as my September '17 note at the same venue, with the wild berry fruit core still needing another year to really show ahead of its still not completely resolved tannins. Just excellent as it stands but with further potential for improvement. 90?+

Not part of the tasting dinner at Barbaracca but an old favourite ordered with cheese after the main event. Vanilla oak tones, core of focussed blackberry and soft berry fruits. Some spice, still a bit closed but good overall concentration. Dry finish. (Just) excellent now but needs another year or two to open up/integrate when it could hit the 91pt mark.
