  • Loved it the first time I tried it, but didn't work the second time. Very strange aftertaste the second time. Really want to try again.

  • Dark sweet fruit on nose, spice and lush fruit on palate. Good finish, nice tannins.

  • Light, gamey nose with smokey blackberry notes. Good weight and balance for its pedigree, showing a bit of heat on the finish. Some more red notes on the palate. Simple, quality wine and excellent for the price. **-/5

  • Sunday, March 20, 2005 no idea. DDB conssumes while I’m on drinking hiatus.
Monday, May 02, 2005 Actually consummed by DDB over several days (4/30-5/2) when I tasted it cigar ash was decidely dominant - almost distractingly so - with some raspberry and mineral kicking in as well. suspect that this wine is actually shutting down.
Friday, November 04, 2005 Always a great little QPR ($10.20) and used primarily this time for a sauce. Generally grenache with some other stuff mixed in, I used it for a sauce under beef fillets paired with Syrah. It worked well. Loads of cigar ash on the nose and palate, with tobo, raspberry and a boat load of spice kicking in. This wine screams grenache! Despite its price point and its medium body, this is still tannic. It has years to go if anyone cares to see it through. A bit of heat on the finish. 13.5% alc. With beef steaks Diane and the next night with lamb chops Diane.
