  • Medium golden in the glass. Complex nose showing notes of peach, pineapple, biscuit, cream and vanilla. The palate is rather concentrated with solid levels of acidity and a polished texture, but I found that the wine was lacking some depth. Tasted blind, guessed Meursault.

  • Fabrice - ‘16 and ‘15. Both are rich but for different reasons. ‘16 is rich because of the frost. They lost 70 percent of the fruit so there is a fruit concentration and roundness. The ‘15 is from the ripeness of the fruit. It was an amazing summer so they don’t want to push it so it shows the terroir more because the soil balances the ripeness with the elegance and minerality.

These theee plots are close but different. Marcherelles is mid slope looking to the northeast and is 50 years old. Marchelles allways shows more green flavors. Apples fresh flowers.cailleret south of the villages is much more exotic. Verges is very high and on top of marchelles. Caillerets is the plot where they founded the winery. One of the most iconic wines of Chassagne. Afternoon sun slope 0poor soil so really can showcase the style of Chassagne.

  • Southern facing at the bottom of the slopes. Powerful nose. Great perfume to it. Leaner and compact on the palate. Hint of waxy smoke to it.
