Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • bright medium yellow color, joyous nose of pears, mineral tones and roasted walnuts, on the palate broad and rich with a piercing white cream already showing in the midpalate, pears, apples, hint of peach and honeysuckle, fine long finish with firm lime acids, this was fairly aggressive at opening and took a good 4 hours to settle, this will evolve wionderfully with age but is showing well enough now to enjoy a bottle or two with great food. I am a fan of the entire Amiot range- but I have a special love for Macherelles with its bright cream and nutty tones- it is one of the best wines in a very strong lineup of some of the finest premier crus in Chassagne and Puligny. Many thanks to Jeanne Marie Deschamps and everyone else in the distribution chain for bringing Amiot back to Texas- we are very happy to see them again!
