Brian's Birthday Dinner (Ampang Kitchen): This was lovely. The nose had such an attractive, caramely maturity to it, with honeyed, stone fruited aromas along with a bit of mineral at the edges. The palate was really solid. Full, powerful, and mouthfilling, with wonderful flavours of strawberries, cherries and malt still touched with a bit of sweet lemon acidity, all pulling away in a solid beam of flavour that stretched into a round, elegant finish. Lovely, delicious stuff, drinking beautifully now.

Nice pop, some decent fizz left, bitter cherry despite some sweetness, dry finish. Alive, but more interesting than delicious. B-

Veuve Clicuot Vertical (Stockholm): Elegant with leather and truffles aromas. Lots of power, fruit and flavour. The Pinot stands out once again.
