Intense nose with grilled aromas, a hint of reduction then once this has dissipated, lime and a herbaceous touch.
Very nicely matured palate, there is tension with menthol coming through. The aromas of toasted bread gradually give way to a very charming lime. Sensation of a ripe wine. Beautiful finish, much more elongated than the mouth.
Very good wine even if the grilled style tires me a little.

Feels like this is in a dumb phase right now, nose was overwhelmingly reductive and never really blew off even after a splash decant. Luckily palate was much more generous with citrus and orchard fruits, prominent vanilla. Medium + to high acidity. I would hold off on opening another any time soon.

It's been about 3.5 years since my last bottle of this as well. Time has also been friendly to it but not with as much appreciable change as the Ceritas. Flinty matchstick as is the vogue on the nose with dense, chewy Chenin fruit underneath playing off a fine chalky minerality. I see no reason why this wouldn't continue to improve. It's good now but I think even better with just a year or two. Convincing.

From magnum. Followed over 2 days. Reductive and leesy, this wine needed serious air on opening. Sea minerals and unripe pit fruit. One of my favorite renditions of Chenin Blanc, although not as linear and reduced as the Clos des Carmes
