My first Sagrantino in years. I must say… I was pleasantly surprised and it paired well with our food. The last time I had an Umbrian wine, it took the enamel off my teeth. This did not do that and it was very pleasant to drink.

Dark and brooding. Green tobacco, dark green foliage, leather, dark cherries, prunes, wild herbs, dried orange peel, diverse spices. This is typical Sagrantino on the nose, but atypically polished and plush on the palate. A very civilized varietal Sagrantino, it will last for another decade or two.

Served by the glass. More mineral than its brothers but it remains without a doubt a Montefalco wine. Aromas of spices and fresh black berries. On the palate it is a serious, chewable wine, to request knife and fork even but at least with length and some balance. Very Caprai style and although it needs time to soften it is undoubtedly the best, and by far, of these series. Understood why was served the last.
Aromas a especias y bayas negras frescas.
