Two hour slow ox. Very very deep ruby color. Mulberry, chocolate cake, raspberry, and cranberry jelly on the nose. Smooth, tongue drying, slightly tart palate, with good, granular acidity. Firm tannins on the longish finish.

Nez de framboises, fraises, un peu terreux, du poivre blanc. Une bouche qui a un très bel équilibre, un fruité et une générosité typée 2015, des tannins qui commencent à peine à se polir. Très bon. 91
Red fruit, raspberries and some cherries too, white pepper, earthy, nice balance, a generous 15 vintage fruit and feel to it, the tannins start to soften, gorgeous. 91-92

Un Gevrey assez fermé au départ, presque muet, mais qui s’ouvre un peu pour donner, surtout au jour deux, un vin assez généreux, assez puissant mais frais, avec des fruits rouges assez murs et savoureux. 89-90
A muted wine that needed time to open up, but that finally gives some nice generous ripe red fruit, some power, good freshness, much better on day 2. 89-90

Opened and decanted for an hour ahead of seared garlic pork loin. It followed a 2012 Couloir Pinot Noir Chileno Valley Vineyard bottle, which was much more expressive and sweet. This, however, was a murky crimson-purple color, cloudy. The nose is restrained but brings plenty of forest floor, tree bark, red hard candy, and some spices. The palate is medium, square, firm, and compact, bringing dark lavender, rhubarb, cloves, smoke, and a high-beam cherry and pomegranate. Needs time, so drink 2022-2030, but we nevertheless enjoyed it now. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 94.
