Birthday present from the Washington State in-laws. Medium dark, clear black cherry color. Nose presents with blue, black, and cherry aromas, along with a slight whiff of smoky orange and honeysuckle at the periphery. A medium viscosity mouthfeel, with medium extraction (impressive for an Oregan Pinot) of sweet, bordering on luscious, blackberry and cherry flavors, nicely balanced acidity, no appreciable tannic component, and a generous amount of fruit with orange peel nuance, and grape skins on the long finish. With time, cinnamon and nutmeg notes float above the increasingly focused and concentrated fruit flavors. We have had other Pinots from this producer on our trips to the Pacific Northwest, but this particular designated vineyard is the most impressively pleasing. We don’t see these wines in Maine, and the price point is inhibitive, but other than the slightly candied aspect to the fruit, this is reminiscent of a top level premier cru Nuits-St-George. Delicious.

The luxurious nose wafts sweet cherry and blackberry compotes, baking spice, stewed plum, black currant, and cassis. There’s a small dose of sweet pipe tobacco as well. Medium bodied with refined smooth tannin and soft acid that neither are obviously present nor particularly loud, they form a harmonious structure along with well integrated alcohol. Flavor wise it provides cherry pie, black plum, sweet rhubarb, clove, and cassis. Drinking really well now, there’s no upside to holding it any longer.

Didn't taste like I remembered at the winery. Could be slightly corked?

Elegant, lovely wine. Green loamy earth on the nose. Well balanced with fruit; fig & plum.

Full bodied, lush, bing cherries. Delicious with Cornish hens and sweet potato, mushroom, and kale sautée.
