Opened 2 hours. Color is deep garnet red/purple. On the nose:Wow: Pepper, violets, cassis, tar and blood. On the palate: Wow, wow and wow. Very refined : Red fruits, Cassis, plum, violets, massive pepper, a slight hint of smoke and blood. Fabulous mouthfeel. Flavor profile is broad and length is very good. This is very young but outstanding. Wait 5 years and you may have a wine that is stratospherically good. This wine is pure class. This is one of my two bottles but felt like a Cote Rotie on a cold day. I highly recommend if you love Syrah to try the Ogier Lieu-dit’s . I bought 2 bottles of each of the 2015’s and am very glad I did. I am a big fan of their “Belle Helene” cuvée.

Precocious young wine here. Great precision with great structure. Not giving too much on the nose at this point. This will not reach close to its full potential for a while maybe 5 years? You can really feel the quality here. Very good.

Les Gobeloteurs Tasting (Domaine Stéphane Ogier - Ampuis): Tasting, brief note. Also firm and tannic like the last couple of cuvees just tasted, while also texturally bright and exciting right now. Still just hinting at its potential, but there is a clear path to greatness here.

Matching the power of the fruit with the tannins and waves of complexities produces a wine that is equally concentrated, fresh and dense. The lift and aromatics shine here. The finish, with its multi-layered wall of stone, spice and red fruits goes on and on. But this demands at least a decade in the cellar before it is ready for its prime time drinking window.
