  • Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella & more, from a 1500' single vineyard. Decanted 3.5 hrs. It really benefits from air. Deep ruby. Med+ candied cranberries, dried black plum, preserved figs, potpourri & sweet baking spices. 4 yrs in small & large used wooden barrels. Dry, w/ med to med+ acidity med, polished tannins & high alcohol (16.5% but seems more like 14.5%). Full-bodied, complex & rich, yet relatively restrained & balanced, w/ a creamy mouthfeel & a long finish. A "drier" style than other versions. At more than 11 years of age, this Amarone should show well through 2030. WS 92.

  • PnP. Drank two bottles with the team in Sirmione. Very pretty mid weight Amarone. Loaded with cherry and some prune notes, long lingering finish and cherry, herbs and pepper in the middle. Of course good with food (pheasant pasta, yum). This Amarone surprised me with its sprightly weight, balance and depth. Not overly complex but delicious. The first bottle was slightly pruny and had some leathery secondary notes. The second was more youthful, energetic precise and engaging. By itself that bottle was a 92.

  • Not do long ago i drank a 2009 Casa Vecie, which I found still very harsh and closed. In comparison this 2012 is surprisingly advanced. Still fresh, but sweetness and flavours of raisin and especially plum dominate the tasting. Drink in the coming years.

  • Consumed with a lanb red curry, fennel salad, pomegranates, toasted walnuts and Dijon vinegarette.
    Perfect pairing.
Enjoyable 2012 Amarone showing ripe red harvest fruits, strawberry preserves, rhubarb, and baking spices. High alcohol noticeable mid-palate and on long finish.
    Good to very good wine.
Drink now but will improve with more aging.
