Discovered Syncline when foraging for wine on the north side of the Columbia Gorge near Hood River in a little town called Bingen. Syncline's base was an unlikely looking shed back then and they have moved subsequently closer to their vineyards. Let not a dull gray shed fool you for the wine within is really good. There is in reality a huge gulf between the enjoyable everyday wines we buy for $10 or so and a proper wine like this. Yet the CT scores may show just a couple of points in that difference. Very misleading. Very dark, purplish blackish red; aroma is fine but complex with espresso, berry and smoke; on the palate is the best part with a complex, balanced array of flavours including berry fruits, espresso, spice, smoke, a smooth, lingering texture.

Very complex. Balanced fruit and minerality make this a wine destined to be paired with lamb. Tanins present, although not overbearing. Dark chocolate and cherry on the nose. Beautiful wine.

Love this wine. Dense, Dark and Spicy. Blending fruit and earth together with an expansive mouth feel.

Superb syrah; rich smoky fruit and bright acidity in excellent balance with supple mouthfeel and a strong finish. Recommended.
