  • Enjoyed today as a "rando" wine (you never know who you're going to run into at Classic). Tasted blind, I would never have guessed that this was a Sauv Blanc. And, never would have guessed it was an 8 year old sauv blanc at that. This wine has a very dominant stone ground fruit nose and it comes through in the palate towards the end. Lots of lemon curd, tropical fruit, and peach on the nose. This wine has just about everything. Has good weight, great density. Very silky on the opening, and just so robust and rich. Becomes more "mineral driven" towards the finish, almost finishing with a lemon zest kind of note that just makes you want to take another sip. WOW. For a white wine, this has just about everything you could want. I don't think I've ever rated a white wine a 96 before, but this one is well deserving of that rating.
