Had in a restaurant with a boar ragu. A little VA on opening, which blew off in about 15 minutes. Mushroom, forest floor, soy sauce, and still a hint of the fruit. This bottle was maybe a bit past its prime, but still very much kicking!

bottle, fill and cork all excellent. This is still a big, substantial wine. Lovely amarone profile with raisins, spice, earth and classic amaro on the finish. Many years to go if this bottle is representative, improves with air

I had this as part of a vertical and it was absolutely spectacular. Let me preface the note that my rating goes to the best bottle. I had it out of several different bottles and at least one of them was pretty far over the hill. If you get one that has made the journey you are in for a treat. Time has really distilled this down to its essence....gorgeous wine.

A very good experience overall. The color and the nose were near perfect. Deep rich color. Nose that screamed "Amarone". On the palate good and fresh for a 50 year old wine. Most of the sweetness has resolved over time. Slightly lacking in the mid-palate, which is what kept it from a higher score

(Bertani Amarone della Valpolicella Classico) Slightly bricking medium red violet color with pale meniscus; touch of TCA, maderized, apple core, dried raisin nose; tart raisin, spicy plum, tangy, caramel palate; medium-plus finish

Joli vin mais avec une note oxydative assez qui limitait le plaisir.
Beaucoup moins bien que la précédente.
