Still very drinkable for a 10 year old chardonnay with toasty brioche and stewed apples on the nose. Surprising to still taste some acidity with the tertiary flavors and above all lots of oak still present. Not for lovers of minerality but for those who enjoy the now "old style" plumper, oak-laden Cali Chards. Drink up!

Smooth with medium oak, with candied pineapple fruit, this chardonnay is excellent and it has a long, refined finish. I drank this a little past the recommended drinking window yet it was still very fine.

14.5% alcohol. A big wine. Aromas of candied oranges, lemon peel, and pineapple framed by a subtle hint of toasted oak. On the palate, butterscotch, pineapple, and candied lemon peel on the attack, which broadens out on the midpalate with mango and some straw and nuts on the finish. Rich and creamy in the mouth and could use a touch more acidity. This wine will not please everyone, as the oak is not shy here, but I do not feel it is overdone. I would probably give it another year in the cellar for the oak to become more integrated and for the fruit to become more honeyed. A good wine for Napa chard lovers. Pair with rich dishes or hard cheeses.

Thought I had drank this years ago, over the hill, little fruit smell or flavor left, oak seems to dominate.

oxidized and undrinkable. Too bad because I've loved the other Ovations we've had.
