You little beauty! A lovely slightly aged Aussie Shiraz. I say slightly because this thing has just started to settle down after 18 years. Tannins have softened but there is still a lovely structure to the palate, the acid is delicate and subtle, and the OH has melded in. The fruit still has an element of primary goodness so if you don't like aged Shiraz characters in your SA juice, then drink up now. Good for another 5 years.

Very purple indeed, showing few signs of age at the rim. Lovely deep, rich but subtle nose of ripe red/black berries, brambles and some tar. The palate is alive! Great acidity and tannin hold this wine together as the fruit is still just creeping out of it's primary phase. Lovely now, but could carry on for another 5-8 years for people who like their wines aged.

Seppelt (Colin Preece) Sparkling Burgundy, 2x100yo Seppelt Paras and many more! (Sydney, Australia): Lots of chocolate, blackberry and cherry on the nose, with some US oak and pepper. Still youthful on the palate, with powerful fruit, plenty of tannin and good length. I think it could use some more time, probably another 6-7 years to fully develop.
