Deep, dark, brooding colors. True to its Barossa root. Upon sniffing, it expressed more complex arrays of aromatic profile than the Que Syrah from Geelong tasted alongside. Cassis, savory, spice, leather, woods. On the palate, this is a big wine. Dense tannin, medium acidity, good amount of fruit to fend off the structural weights of the wine. Lots of dark fruits but not in a forward kind of way. Some secondary notes showed already. Full midpalate and long lasting backend. This will continue to evolve for sure. Give it 5 more years to reach its peak. Now with 1 hr decanting. 90+
