Initially this thing was spritzy I a was like whoa lively acidity , it calms down a touch and becomes creamier with notes of lemon sorbet, muskmellon, lime, fresh wet grass, almond blossom, Stoney minerality and nutmeg. Drink now - 2025.

at Decant. Slight peach, slight Smokey wool on the nose. Medium body. High minus acid. Slightly elevated alcohol. Cleanly made but not reductive (neutral barrels and no malo (I was surprised - the acid seems mellow and more tartaric).

Very rarely is Chenin Blanc planted in California, but Foxen not only has kept a vineyard of Chenin Blanc long enough to make old vines, but even makes two levels of wines. This top of the line old vines single vineyard bottling is competitive with the best Chenin Blanc in the Loire River Valley in France. Rich, lushly textured, concentrated, and complexly layered.

Creamy lemon curd that feels lush in the mouth, but green apple and lime zest acidity is a perfect balance. Very long tart finish. Excellent value.
