  • 3 bottles of this wine buried in cellar, however was able to reach one last night. Was not expecting much after reading earlier reveiws. This wine is drinking great right now!! Smoky, creamy, pear, stone fruits, slightly buttery with o nice long finish. What a nice surprise.

  • based upon tasting this bottle, i would have to agree with wine spectator (laube) review that this wine was made to be consumed at an earlier stage in its development. at this point, it is all toasy oak with very little fruit showing. it is not oxidized or spoiled in any way but does not show the concentrated pear, peach and vanilla flavors of which the label boasts. crisp apple is the only fruit flavor compoment that is evident at this time. i would have to say that there are other california chards that over more robust flavor experiences at the same price point, with greater longevity as well.

  • [turkey chili] Certainly not comparable to the RR Res. Pleasant but lacks complexity, with blunted nose and ripe pear and toast on the palate.
