My wife and I thought this wine was fantastic. I got scared off by the recommended drink date from the front page, but we felt the wine could still have used a few years to round off the tannins.

opaque dark ruby, nose in a much warmer register with baked cherries, funky moist earth, diesel exhaust, creosote, harb rubber, jammy blackberries, vitamins, gamy lamb with rosemary, impressive complexity if built apon a base of over-ripe fruit - bigger in the mouth, sweet yet not overtly fruity, acidity is a touch low, bit minty and vanilla indistinct dark fruits, drying finish is a bit pruny yet there are refreshing notes of chalk and tobacco/dried herbs, a long finish that turns loose and indistinct then returns with notes of green pepper and roasted fennel. I don't really like this wine, it has aromatics and flavors that i like and admirable complexity but it feels as though it was assembled. I know people who would like this though but for me it's not very good.
