Drunk with other wines and no formal notes: Stellar dessert wine. Very demure in comparison to a Sauternes from its vintage but with a quiet complexity. Very young tasting. This wine could go another 50 years easily, though not sure about the cork. It got finished in a (relative) hurry. Outstanding.

Very primary and unevolved, with citric notes, apricot, honey. Dense and textured, but with a good backbone and fine balance of sweetness and acid. But this needs lots of time.

Loire Tasting and Dinner (Traci's pad, Rockridge): Lacks the vibrancy and freshness of my previous experience with this wine, but was still a welcome respite to a syrupy Saxum that was being passed around the table. Waxy golden fruits, citrus, crisp acidity, long honeyed finish.

Surprisingly light and unevolved in color. A somewhat muted nose, maybe a touch of wax and bright white fruits. Oh my, just gorgeously complex and kaleidoscopic on the palate, offering glimpses of a myriad of flavors, shifting every few seconds into a new gear. Deftly balanced sweetness and acid. Stunning!
