It has been almost one year since my initial tasting of this wine. One-hour splash decant. No sediment. Wine was fairly fragrant during decant. That nose continued in the glass: raspberries with leaves, some currants, chocolate and fennel. The wine's nose and color were brighter than last year. Good depth of fruit, very smooth and warming on the tongue (but not hot at all). Medium-long finish with the fruit and chocolate, ending with the fennel note. Was a wonderful match to a smoked and then charred pork chop with blueberry compote and a maple sherry sauce. This wine stood up to the char quite nicely. It has at least 5 years of fantastic drinking ahead of it and is still improving in the bottle.

First bottle tasted to get a feel for the drinking window and possible food matches. One-hour decant. Clear, dark garnet, no bricking yet. No sediment. Nose was fragrant during decant and in the glass: Deep cassis, dark chocolate and burnt frankincense on the nose. In the mouth, the wine was heavy, fruit forward and quite deep. Balance was good. Flavors of black currants, some baking chocolate, and Provençal herbs. Medium finish. About 150 minutes after decant, the burnt frankincense subsided along with the herbal finish. While the wine is very drinkable, I am likely to wait a year or so on the rest of these. As for food matches, this wine needs more than a steak! Something with a good red sauce or heavily herbed like a pepper steak or even fajitas. Good QPR.

Much as my earlier tasting note, dense plum, savoury nuances with hints of oak. Excellent now with the possibility of further improvement of the next 4 years or so. 90+

Party Conference, Manchester with Jeroboams in the Blue Room. Limited notes. Superb concentration of dense spicy plum with savoury nuances. Bought a dozen. Serious Chilean with some ageing potential. Now (well breathed) and for at least 8 years from vintage.
