The two hour mark in the decanter is magic hour for this wine. The wine open up and seems to transform, blossom…big difference from when first poured into the decanter. Drinking beautifully, but one can only speculate as to its development over say another six months??? Lucky me I found another bottle! Enjoyed with Margret de canard on arugula salad with homemade duck cracklings! Recette de Jacques Pépin. Wonderfully delicious pairing.

Pop and pour. In the glass, Medium ruby-red at the rim, shading to dark ruby-red at the core. On the nose, cherry liqueur with a hint of potpourri. On the palate, still primary on the attack with a bit of mineral complexity on the mid-palate, after which assertive tannins take over on a moderately long finish. Approachable now, but those tannins make me think another 3-5 years will be beneficial.

Perhaps my palate off but after the 2016 Finn this tasted monochromatic and flat

Ripe red cherry and spice aromas and flavors with silky smooth palate and refreshing acidity on the long finish. Drinking beautifully!
