Brian's Birthday Dinner (Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck, Paragon): This had a really attractive nose, with notes of wood spice, dark plum and cherry fruit, and a hint of earthiness. A very nice, maturing bouquet. The palate was nice and developed, with velvety tannins and soft acidity lapping around a simple, but fairly yummy core of dried red cherries and berries, preserve orange peel, and just a little hint of dried flowers. Very attractive, nice purity, and drinking well now, if just a little on the simple side.
