Med lemon. Med (-) aromas of golden delicious apple, anise, earth, and some lees influence. 4 mos. in very large neutral French and Slavonian oak casks leave no perceptible oak spice. Dry, with med (+) acidity, med (+) tannins, med (+) alcohol (13.5%). The palate is smooth, with a touch of creaminess. Nicely balanced, with med (+) body, flavor intensity and length. Drink now, not likely to improve with further aging.

Great Verdicchio with a moderate amount of age on it (they can go much longer). Yellow apple, pear, lemon, salinity, brine, green almonds. Medium + body, great mouthfeel. Good with baked oysters.

Amaretto, bruised bananas foster, flan give the nose a decidedly dessert feel which is also slightly funky. The palate is dry, broad, oily, and nutty.
The flavor profile seems about as developed as it’s going to usefully get, M acid is keeping this alive for now but it’s feeling slightly tired and I wouldn’t try holding any longer.
This paired well with an oily pasta with fennel and cumin seed, chickpeas, kale, lemon, and feta but the food had more energy than the wine. Average value. 5.9/10, might have been 6 or higher a year or two ago when a little fresher.

Last bottle of 6. Sadly oxidized like the bottle we had last summer. However in December, we had a beautifully evolved wine which was still full of life.

Day one for Brian after being sober for so long. Once, during dry January, I forced to live on nothing but food and water for days.
