Decanted 3 hours. Nose of spice, black fruit and blood. In the mouth, it’s spice and blood. And it’s hot. Sooo deep, but a little too hot for me. No surprise with a listed 15.5% alcohol content. Let it sit in the glass 2 hours to give it more air. Swirled occasionally. It then tasted—gonna get descriptive here—like a bouquet of garrigue and peppercorns dipped in blood that was placed in an air-tight leather box and left for a long spell. It was fabulous. The heat had subsided to a level that let the wine strut its stuff. This was, unfortunately, my only bottle of this vintage. Sad! If I had another, I’d wait at least a year to open.

My oh my……took out of Eurocave….decanted…back into wine art at red temp… First blush…Oh no…. Another over hyped CDP… Not much nose and flavor was one dimensional……fuck……went and attended the grill… Cooked dinner….came back poured a glass….WTF!!!…. Is this the same wine??……monstrous beast….deepest purple hued….nose leaps forth…blue black fruits..touch vanilla..something like a creme brûlée….bit of spice..touch alcohol…. Fantastic nose… Legs form quicker than you would imagine….. Intense berry on the tongue hitting with tannins and acidity in the best way possible…tobacco, tar, leather meld with delicious fruit in the mid palate..leading to a touch drying fruited leather tar finish…. Fucking fantastic now but seriously….this isn’t even close to being ready for prime time…. When the beast gets tamed this is going to be unbelievable… I would say 5 years at a minimum….. Hard to believe this much can get packed into a bottle of pressed grapes! 4 days later…last large glass…deepest of dense purple black hue… Nose is lavendar, blackberry touch alcohol whiff…. Palate is dense chocolate covered blue and black berry…pretty much same notes as before… To me it indicates this bad boy needs quite a lot of time to settle the tannins and let it’s metamorphis occur…. Great now….greaterness in store…
An expressive CdP in the glass with a shimmering, dark ruby hue. The nose is complex but does not overpower with refined aromas of warm currants, wild raspberry, pit smoke and Chinese 5 spice. Well-balanced and beautifully textured on the palate revealing notes of ripe blackberry, cocoa powder, dried herbs and granite like minerality. Semi-sweet tannins provide for a long, savory finish.
