  • Bright, deep purple colour even at the edge
Initially a nose of Saline, Leather, Tobacco leaf, Kalamata Olives, opening to licorice, roasted cherry tomatoes,
Medium to full bodied, leathery, cedar, sour berry and cherries, developing into a finish of bouquet garni type flavours, not overly complex, but a good wine, good QPR as purchased on special for $22AUD
Powdery tannins coating tongue and cheeks, good acidity to match the fruit flavours, Yes probably peak drinking now and another 12 months.

  • 73% of reviews for this vintage here are from The Great Wine Drinking of 2020. So how is it after a few years? Pristine nose of seething iodine, black raspberry liqueur, and wax pencil. A mouthful is proportioned like a bruiser but steady with its recitation of detail: blood, cherries, fennel frond. A pressure front of disciplined tannins. Roasted game bird. A residual sensation of prunus, licorice and fertile soil add up to an event more savory than sweet. Time and air coax from it ever more determined coherence and subtle, brooding aromatics. Pairing with pan fried, heritage breed, pork chops from Duluth.

  • This Kermit Lynch import has an interesting back label, i.e., collaboration with Vieux Telegraph ??
This Vin de Pays from Famille Brunier is a good Rhône blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 5% Cinsault, and 5% Carignane. Perfect cork on this relatively young wine, easily removed. Consumed over two days, better the second day. Deep ruby color with good clarity. Aroma and taste of red plum, cherry, and garrigue. Good year for fruit in the Vaucluse and no detectible flaws in the inexpensive Rhône rouge. I may purchase again when I see it. Great with Charcuterie and Olive Tapenade.

  • Not my cup of tea. Very alcoholic. Strong, stings the tongue
