While clearly nearing the end of its drinkable life, (though it should be fine in veal stew for a few years), this has held up remarkably well, in ideal rack conditions. Dark gold, almost brassy in color, the nose offers toasted hazelnuts, quince , And oysters rockefeller. In the mouth, a hint of oxidation doesn’t trouble the butter almond, marzipan, and underripe pear flavors. Medium/long finish, drink up, it was great with a cheesy baked oyster and crab casserole.

Again, wonderful and rich and paired exceptionally well with lemon dill salmon. Give this an hour of air (out of the fridge) and it all comes together to coat your entire mouth. Wonderful mouthfeel, medium body, lots of buttery flavors, with very little oak. Just smooth and youthful. This is built on solid ground and has six plus strong years ahead of it. Just as good on day two and an amazing QPR.
