  • Drank with family over Christmas lunch (Costco lasagna, salad). This was certainly bricked around the edges, borderline for sure. There was still a red core with a neon hue. Still quite good - leather, spice, and wood dominate with some dried fruits remaining. Some drinkers liked the smooth and mellowed tannins.

  • Drank at our Spanish wine dinner Wednesday nite, alongside a 2006 and 2009. This 1995 is incredibly still drinking well, and is just a lovely mature wine. Generous nose exudes aromas of red berries, and dried fruit. Medium body, still with plenty of red fruit, along with notes of green pepper, earth and smoke. Some mushroom and perhaps some barnyard here. Pleasingly long & elegant finish. At 28 years of age, this wine continues to shine (and certainly outshone its younger sibs each of which requires more bottle age, particularly the 2009)

  • Lovely still. Slight funk on the nose that didn’t go away.

  • Second of 2 bottles purchased and cellared since 2014. No need for a decant, immediately appealing and expressive. Flavors of coffee, smoke, dark red fruits, a powerful yet elegant wine today of moderate acidity and a powerful finish. Close to peak drinking now, excellent.

  • Popped and poured last nite. I've had this wine before and my notes are consistent. Medium body, red garnet color and displayed a nose of tar and earth. The wine is now showing its age, and its viscosity has decreased. Still some tart red and black fruit, earthy and nice minerality. This wine has held up nicely. My last bottle, I'm sorry to say...
