  • Good structure. Lasting finish. Tart flavors along with some tannins take over the initial swallow. As the taste dissipates u can taste the balance and the brilliance in the wine. Prob would’ve paired better with food cause if it’s initial boldness but I chose to drink it after dinner. I let it sit in the decanter for 4 hours before trying as an experiment I get bold dark fruits an oak influence on the nose I’m also getting some strawberries on the mid palate. Great wine. I have a couple more bottles. I’m going to hold for some time before I give it another go. This wine is still extremely dark in color an I feel I want to experience it again in some sort of future evolution. Great job. I tried this wine a few months ago an gave it 2hours less than I gave this bottle in the decanter. Wanted to see what more air would’ve done to the wine.

  • Very good reminded us of Viña Ardanza, Lizzie said it was more balanced, I tasted some metallic tannins

  • 4th Saturday Brown Bagger (J&S’s): Double blind. Deep color, with notes of boysenberry, red plum and pepper. Definitely ripe, but not overly so. Full-bodied. Red plum and ripe red berry fruit on the palate. Hints of vanilla and rosemary stems in the finish. Guessed Spanish grenache.

This had been decanted for an hour before the tasting began. (J&S)

  • Did a 2 - 3 hour decant.
Nose doesn’t live up to the flavor this wine has. Bright cherry/ rasp tang to it with good acidity an soft tannins that slowly take away the feeling of liquid in your mouth Alcohol sneaks up on u but it isn’t profound at all. Very well balanced other than the fruity kick you get 5 sec into your initial taste. Great wine. With or without food. U can let this age an I’m sure it will settle down into an even better wine. This possibly a 94 but I’m a stick at 93. 95 96 when the fruit settles down a bit more

  • One of my favorite Rioja's. Dark cherry color. Butter, black cherry and vanilla on the nose. Following into the palate with coconut, leather, tobacco and chocolate. The mouthfeel is silky and a long finish that leaves you needing more! This is amazing now and will surely only get better in the coming 5-10 years.
