Intense, full bodied wine. Lots of dark fruits and licorice. Needs a few hours in the decanter. Good with a good steak. Could use another couple of years in the cellar, but good to drink now.

You know those articles that encourage you to patronize your local wine purveyor. Yellow card for the next article I read like that. Paid $36 for this on a bloated recommendation about 5 years ago. I love Tempranillo but not this version. Lacks the elegance of a fine Rioja and does not have the depth of some of the better Toro versions. Ok, but not great (and maybe I am a bit frosted that I paid 2x - and it certainly was not worth what I paid).

I don't normally like Tempranillo based wines, but this one is delicious. The 2015 Numanthia Toro Termes is open for business. I popped it open and I then let I it breathe for many hours. I began sipping and I was immediately impressed. A very smooth, fruity wine, that is very versatile. Is it worth $18 a bottle? You bet!
