  • Very accessible wine from declassified Barbaresco-grapes if I am not mistaken.
Lots of soft tannins, nose of dried fruits, fresh apples and plums. Palate has great intensity, depth and length. Also a charming sweetness to it.

  • The appearance is pale ruby in colour. Tears are visible.

The nose is clean. The aromas have a medium intensity and show notes of black fruit (black cherry, bramble), mineral (earthy character), oak (wood), and herbal characters (subtle black tea). The wine appears youthful.

On the palate, the wine is dry with medium(+) acidity, medium(+) alcohol, and full body. The high level tannins are ripe and velvety in nature. The flavours have a medium intensity and show notes of black fruit (black cherry, bramble), oak (wood), and mineral and herbal characters (earth, black tea). The finish has a medium(+) length.

This is a very good quality wine. The flavours are concentrated and have a great balance with the acidity and the alcohol. The velvety tannins have a great texture and show a good balance with the acidity. The oak treatment is quite subtle, but features aromas and flavours that complement the flavour profile. In its current state, the wine shows primary and secondary characters, and has a finish with great length.

This wine drinks well now, but has potential for ageing. The fruit intensity is great and the acid and tannin structure should support the wine as tertiary notes develop.

  • 14% alcohol.

Youthful, translucent raspberry color with a slightly purple hue and a rather colorless rim. The nose feels ripe, sweet-toned and juicy with fruity aromas of dark cherries, sun-baked earth, some strawberry tones, a little bit of alcohol, light raspberry jam character, brambly hints of black raspberries and a floral touch of violets. The wine is smooth, ripe and full-bodied on the palate with juicy flavors of raspberry marmalade, wild strawberry, some peppery spice, a little bit of black raspberry, light sour cherry bitterness and a hint of stony minerality. Overall the wine tastes more ripe than crunchy, but not too much. The structure relies on both high acidity and noticeably grippy medium-plus tannins that seem to only pile up on your gums. The finish is grippy, slightly wild and medium-to-moderately long in length with nuanced flavors of sun-baked earth, ripe black cherries, some strawberry tones, a little bit of raspberry and a hint of peppery spice.

A surprisingly ripe, structured and serious Langhe Nebbiolo that drinks more like a lesser Barolo or Barbaresco than a "mere" Langhe Nebbiolo. Offers a lot more depth and pleasure than you'd expect from a wine at this level, but priced accordingly at 20€.

  • Dark cherries, strawberries, raspberries and roses. Quite light on it's feet, carries a dark (for Nebbiolo) fruit profile with it's structural elegance. Good or even very good for a Langhe Nebbiolo, maybe a tad expensive at the price I paid (about 29 EUR).
