Dark brooding cherry and five spices. Clove and cinnamon, later violet. Lilac, barnyard lurking behind. Velvety and silky. Scent is amazing, taste a slightly bit short, but a very nice wine.

Poured a just barely cloudy ruby. Very fresh red fruit scents of strawberries and cherries. Complex floral aromas, and a touch of funk / animalia as well. On the palate, very spry and bright with refreshing acidity, red fruit, and a spice note that I couldn't quite place but that resembled something akin to the Vosne spice or cinnamon.
Drinking well right now but clear room for upside, at the beginning of a decade long drinking window. paired very well with roast chicken and wilted greens over rice.
Glad I have a bunch more of these, I'll be looking for more from this producer going forward. Very impressed and (for burgundy) solid QPR as well.

Airy nose with a soaring lift that made me think of a masterfully blended floral perfume, perhaps with a touch of menthol. This is a very silky and classy 1er Cru, where gorgeous red fruit dances on the palate, there is also plenty of energy and potential upside for further cellaring if you can resist the urge to drink now... A very balanced and complete wine.
[Edit - I have spent too long reflecting on how good this wine was so I have had to move it up a notch from my original 93 score]

"Good bottles" (67 Pall Mall): The 2015 and 2017 of this were very good when I tried them, so it makes sense that this bottle also performed excellently, although I was surprised at how well it was drinking at this stage. A very cool, restrained, dark wine, almost Chateau Montrose-meets Burgundy, with espresso-like concentration yet no feeling of warmth or thickness. A real pleasure to drink, and I think the Zalto Burgundies were a perfect vessel in this case.

Dark. Intense black raspberry nose, a little smoky reduction. Bright dark fruit palate, intense, concentrated, taut.
