A Mid-Summer Sunday Supper in Wandsworth (Chez Bruce): Very striking nose, only the faintest hint of reduction which dissipates quickly, real lime tree blossom and as a co-diner observes waxed lemons. Something a little nettly in the background too. Palate very focused with great grip and precision. Time ahead. Excellent wine.

Sunday Night Free Corkage Night (Chez Bruce): Pale yellow. Evidently a highly opinionated winemaker who doesn’t use any oak - a real linearity and structure to this - there’s a breadth to it - perhaps lees if not oak. Some waxed lemon perhaps? Classy drink - I’d love to try this producer again, and like no Mersault I’ve tried before.

An interesting Chardonnay without any oak influence. All of Francois Ganoux wines are aged in stainless steel tanks. Fresh and zesty array of green tree fruits, hints lychee. Steely and linear, stylistically more of a “Classic Sauvignon Blanc” than Burgundy. Airy and crystalline minerals on the palate, very pure and smooth. Would be interesting to try one with more age on it. (85/100)
