Coming back to this after about 4 years. On the nose: Mixed red and black berries, blackberry compote, plum and some baking spices. On the palate: Rich red and blackberries, blackberry liquor (very nice), cinnamon and baking spices and some plum. Still young and a very nice Zinfandel. Drinking very easily.

Decided to try again one year later, and feel that this has come together nicely. The tannins are still quite present but have smoothed out and are in better balance with the acid and fruit, which I think has developed as far as one would want. The dark brambly fruits, which are beginning to take on the stewed quality one finds in the riper Ridge zins, are are balanced nicely by lively acid, but unless you really like that quality which to some palates comes across as dessert-like (even though this is not a sweet wine), you probably don't want to let this age any longer. For my tastes, this is probably about as good as this is going to get, so I'll drink my remaining bottles over the next year or so.

Very well made. Opaque in color (87% Zin, 13% Petite Sirah). Blackberry, blueberry, brambles, 5-spice on nose, hint of pepper in mouth. Medium tannins with nice acid backbone. Should drink well for another 2-3 years.
After having read others' notes, I think I've benefited from having held the wine. Seems like it's gained complexity and smoothed out edges. I'm still within 1/2 half hour of opening.

Delicious. Lighter style of Zinfandel, great acidity.
